How to seed a team on a bracket

To seed teams in a bracket in Playday, follow these steps:

  1. Find the Event: Locate the specific event or tournament where you want to seed the teams. Access the event's admin panel or control panel.
  2. Participants Tab: Navigate to the "Participants" tab within the event. Here, you will see a list of all the teams or participants registered for the tournament. By default, they will be listed with a seed value of 0.
  3. Seed Options: Playday provides two options for seeding teams:

    • Random Seed: If you want to automatically randomize the seeding for all the teams, there is an option to generate random matches. This will assign a random seed value to each team.

    • Manual Seed: Alternatively, you can manually adjust the seed values by dragging and dropping teams over each other. The top team would typically have a seed value of 1, followed by 2, 3, and so on.

  4. Seed Values: Playday's system uses competition formats that are based on powers of 2, such as 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and so on. If you have a lower number of participants than the nearest power of 2, the system will generate BYEs (automatically advanced matches) to fill in the remaining slots and progress the bracket to the appropriate rounds.

By adjusting the seed values, you can control the initial matchups and placement of teams in the bracket. This allows for a fair and structured competition based on your preferences.

Please note that the steps provided are specific to Playday's functionality for seeding teams in a bracket. The availability and layout of features may depend on the version and customization of the Playday platform you are using. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, refer to the platform's documentation or consult their support team for guidance.
